Facilities:
The Waterboy Car Wash is a fully equipped, self-service facility. It is equipped with two Touchless Automatic Car Wash machines. These machines are the latest technology D&S i5000 equipment. They are capable of cleaning all your vehicle surfaces; top, bottom and sides without resorting to brushes or other tools that touch your vehicle surfaces. The high velocity air dryers remove the excess water and dry your vehicle. The automatic machines take 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the wash selected, to do their job. The bays feature automatic doors for inclement weather operation.
The automatic bays will accomodate most vehicles. We cannot accomodate the following:
1. Large dual wheel pickups
2. Large crew cab pickups especially with a trailer hitch
3. Full size Hummers
4. Any vehicle with large, oversize tires or wheels.
There are six self-service bays for the do-it-yourself vehicle owner. These bays provide numerous wash options. Each bay is equipped with floor mat clamps so you can clean up those messy mats. There are pull down doors for use during inclement weather.
The self-service bays can accomodate the vehicles that will not fit in the automatic bays.
There are 12 high powered coin operated vacuum cleaners distributed throughout the facility. Two of these vacuums are special; one includes the option for shampooing your upholstery and carpets. The other provides an air nozzle and gauge to check and inflate your tires.
There are trash collection containers located near each vacuum cleaner stand as well as in each of the self-service bays.
There are large blacktop areas where owners may park and detail their vehicles. Vending machines supply branded, high quality Armor All and other detailing products.
Payments:
Waterboy Car Wash transactions can be made with cash (currency or quarters), with Credit/Debit Cards or Gift Cards. There are two change machines mounted on the front of the building near the office. These change machines accept currency denominations from $1.00 to $20.00. The change machines provide quarters which are accepted throughout the facility. The Vending machines and vacuums accept quarters.
The Automatic Bays accept either currency or Credit/Debit cards.
The Self-Service Bays accept either coins or Credit/Debit Cards.
We also accept Gift Cards which are available for sale at the Car Wash; they can be used in place of Credit/Debit cards anywhere at the car wash.
Our Credit/Debit Card processing software and hardware is Payment Application-Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) compliant for data security.
Wash Options:
Automatic
There are numerous wash options available for the vehicle owner.
Waterboy Car Wash features two fully automatic, touchless wash bays.
These bays have four different washing options: Basic, Regular, Deluxe
and Premium.
The Basic Wash option includes the following: two
pre-soak soap passes, two power wash passes, Rinse and a spot free rinse.
The Regular Wash option includes the Basic wash and adds
undercarriage and side panel washes along with a high velocity air power dry.
The Deluxe Wash option includes the Basic Wash, the Regular
Wash and adds a clear wax coating.
The Premium Wash option includes the Basic Wash, the Regular
Wash, and the Deluxe Wash and adds the Tri-Gloss coating and the Quick Rain
Rinse.
The prices for these options range from $6.00 to $10.00. All
you have to do is drive your vehicle into the bay and let us do the work.
Self Service Bay
Waterboy Car Wash features six self service bays for the
do-it-yourself vehicle owner. We supply multiple tools and options so the
do-it-yourself owner can use just what is
needed to do the job. The bays are lighted
and feature roll down doors for inclement weather.
The various options are dial selected. They include a
pre-wash soap that is stronger and designed to break down hard to remove
dirt and grime. We supply a tire wash soap option to clean those hard to
clean wheels. The high pressure soap (1200 pounds pressure) wash removes the
dirt and grime. The foaming brush option uses a newly formulated soap that
works well on bugs and that oily road grime, white vehicles really shine after
using the brush. The brushes are constructed of natural hog bristles that will
not harm your car finish. The high pressure rinse clears soap and
left over grime. The spot free rinse insures that your vehicle will not have
mineral spots when it dries.
We also equip the bays with floor mat hanging clamps so
those floor mats can be blasted clean with the high pressure options.
Self Service Bay #1 is special, it has the same options as
all the other bays but it includes the Air Shammee option. This is a hand held
high velocity blower. It works for cars and really works well for
motorcycles. The high velocity air drives the water out of all those nooks and
crannies on motorcycles.
Vending:
Waterboy Car Wash vending machines
supply a wide range of vehicle detailing products. We feature national brand Armor All products.
These products cover all the needs for the do-it-yourself owner.
There are cleaners for bugs and tar; cleaners for windows, cleaners for upholstery and other surfaces.
There are preservatives and polishes along with a variety of drying towels.
We supply a wide range of fragrance products to make your vehicle smell like new.
Hours:
Waterboy Car Wash is a 24/7 facility. The self service bays are open the year around. The automatic bays are open 24/7 with the exception of when the temperature drops below 25 degrees. Below that temperature the automatic machines have to be protected from freezing. At those temperatures the soaps and other products tend to freeze on the vehicle surfaces, this destroys their effectiveness and reduces the quality of the wash. To protect the equipment and improve customer satisfaction we close the automatics during extreme cold temperatures.
For safety reasons, the floors in all bays are maintained at 44 degrees to prevent ice formation.
All of the equipment is designed to be unattended self-service; there is an attendant on duty for a period during each day. We have a number of ways for customers to inform us of issues or leave comments.
There are Comment Forms in a box next to the change machines. If there is a problem or issue the customer should complete a Comment Form that describes their issue and leave it in the silver box.
If you have a smart phone you can scan the QR Code on the placard in the window; the QR Code will take you to the Contact Us page on the Waterboy Car Wash web site where you can compose an email that will be sent directly to us.
If there is a problem or issue the customer, using their cellphone camera, should scan the QR Code located on the office door. This will allow you to send us an email detailing your issue. We endeavor to promptly answer all issues and try to resolve all problems to your satisfaction.

Why is there a $15.00 charge on my credit or debit card when I use a self-service car wash bay?
Self Service car washing services are supplied on a time used basis. When you enter a
self-service bay, we have no way to determine how long you will be using the service so
we place a temporary maximum $15.00 charge or hold on your credit or debit card. $15.00 is the
maximum charge that can be accumulated in a self-service bay.
First, we need to determine that you are using a valid credit card. Then we need to
determine that you have enough credit available in the account for the maximum $15.00
charge that you may incur in a self-service car wash bay. When you have completed
your wash and you push the Red Stop button, the charging stops and your actual
charge appears in the window on the card swipe terminal.
At the end of the day all transactions are processed, the temporary holds are cancelled, the actual charges for each transaction are determined and transmitted to the various banks that issue the credit cards. The following day, when you access your credit card account, you will see your actual incurred car wash charge. This is a common self-service car wash industry practice.

bays are available year around in all weather. In the winter, as a safety
precaution, the floors are heated to 44 degrees to prevent ice from forming.
AutomaticBays:
The two automatic bays are 24/7 operations. During the winter, when
the temperature drops below 25 degrees, the Automatic Bays will be closed.
This is necessary to protect the Automatic Bay equipment from freezing and to
improve service. During extreme cold weather the soaps and chemicals do not
function as designed. They tend to freeze on the vehicle surfaces; this
reduces their effectiveness and affects the quality of the wash.
Spot
Free Rinse: Spot Free Rinse is designed to reduce spotting on vehicle
surfaces; this is especially true for black, blue, maroon and other dark
colored vehicles. We use City of Elgin water, that water is softened and used
for all washing operations; it contains naturally dissolved minerals. The
softened water is then processed by an on-site reverse osmosis (R/O) plant that
completely removes the dissolved minerals. Spot Free water, when selected,
comes out of the self-service wands at reduced pressure. Starting at the roof
line and rinsing downward will remove the previous rinse water and result in a
spot free surface.
Gift Cards: Gift Cards are available for purchase. Various denominations
starting at $20.00 and progressing in $10.00 increments are available. Gift
Cards provide a 20% discount for car wash services. You pay $20.00 for $24.00
worth of services; $30.00 for $36.00 worth of services, etc.
